Welcome to BORED: the column that lets you know what
is happening in L.A. So if your studies have got you down
or you are just plain bored, then get out and enjoy this
amazing city we live in.

B is for Barrister’s Ball: It’s a new year, which means it is time for the guys to suit up and the girls to get all decked out in gowns and high heels. SW’s Barrister’s Ball will be held o  Feb. 29. For you 1L’s who haven’t experienced our version of law school prom, it is not to be missed. Tickets go on sale in early February, so be on the look out for pre-sale deals. Don’t miss out; last year tickets sold out quickly!

O is for Out on the Town: What can make the new year better than the last (besides an A in Torts)? A little green, a little good, and of course a whole lot of Wicked. If you are one of the few who haven’t seen Wicked yet, grab some friends and hit the Pantages Theater for a night on the town.

R is for Recreation: While most of us are hoping we don’t cry when grades are released, more than 50 percent of the American population is resolving to drop a few extra pounds. If you are one of them, then head to Griffith Park. The largest city park in the United States has a lot to offer, including hikin  trails, a golf course, softball fields, and horseback riding. There is no reason to not use Griffith Park instead of a busy gym.

E is for Eats: Eating healthier is a common resolution come this time of year. Now I know we are law students and most of us eat out, but what if you could eat out and still stick to your healthy eating plan? Real Food Cuisine in West Hollywood and Santa Monica are designed just for that. This all-organic vegetarian restaurant is committed to excellence in taste without all the processed sugars and unnecessary additives. Visit realfood.com for more details.

D is for Donate: Jan. 21, 2008, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and instead of taking the day off why not donate your time? MLK Day is known as the Day of Service in the Volunteer World and there are tons of organizations that could use your time and energy. Visit mlkday.gov for more information.
