Welcome to B*O*R*E*D, the column that lets you know what is happening in LA. If your studies have got you down or you are just plain bored, then get out and enjoy this amazing city we live in.
Buy: Tired of the sun yet? Kidding, we always have sun. But you can begin wishing and hoping for fall semester to be over and the ski season to start. Mountain High season passes go on sale Sept. 1. www.mthigh.com or 888-754-7878.
Only this Month: Summer is almost over so, why not get out and enjoy it at a waterpark one last time. Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine has decided not to renew its lease, so the park is scheduled to close Sept. 30. www.wildrivers.com or 949-788-0808.
Recreation: With at least two weeks of law school under your belt you probably want to throw something at someone! If so, then Stay Puft Marshmallow Monday Night is for you!! The Hollywood Recreation Center and the Los Angeles Dodgeball Society are teaming up to bring you a dodge ball league. There are two leagues to join, but the Stay Puft is the more laidback co-ed league night without the bruising. The Monday games are at 8 and 9 p.m. The cost for the season is $50 and includes a team shirt. You can sign up as an individual or with friends. Visit www.dodgeball4ever.com for more information.
Entertainment: For those of you who were lucky enough to spend summer session in London, you may have seen Avenue Q. However, if you spent the summer in Westmoreland and missed this great show you are in luck. The hilarious musical told by a mixture of actors and puppets is coming to LA. From Sept. 6 to Oct. 14, visit the Ahmanson
Theatre to find out how to make it big in NYC with no money.
Donate: Remember when you had to buy all new school supplies on a small budget? You should - it was only three weeks ago. Well, we aren’t the only ones. Hoover Elementary is also in need of very basic school supplies. The boxes are located in the foyer area of the Westmoreland building so just drop off a few binders, pens, pencils, and paper in there. Trust me, you’ll like yourself more in the morning for it.
